Caska is located in the western part of Pag Bay, in the immediate vicinity of Novalja. This small place with a rich history was once home to Cissa, a Roman city, which, according to historians, sank in the 4th century due to an earthquake. Today, there are only a few houses in Caska Bay, but on its seabed there is a sunken city. The remains of buildings can be found by diving, but most of the sunken city is inaccessible to view due to large deposits of mud, sand and seaweed. Other historical attractions include the old tower (Tunera) – a tuna observation post and the remains of the Romanesque church of St. George on the hill above Caska. The small population is engaged in agriculture (growing grapes, olives, fruit and vegetables) and tourism.
